Fee Vote Results & Launch of the Member Support Scheme

Results for the Fee Vote

We recently put a vote to all our branches regarding an increase in fees for the Game Session Tokens and the Annual Membership. We are pleased to announce that all branches voted unanimously in favor of both of these fee increases. This will allow us to continue to support branches with rising venue and insurance costs, further help us maintain and improve our website for members to use, and most importantly allow us to raise more for charity.

The following details the new fees and when those changes take effect:

GSTs

  • Game Session Token for Members: £3.00
  • Game Session Token for Non-Members: £4.00

Changes will take effect from the start of Q2 2023. Any GSTs purchased before this time at the old rate will still be honored and will not expire.

Annual Membership

New Fee: £10

Changes take effect for the 2023-2024 membership that begins at the end of September 2023. Membership will reduce by £2 each quarter instead of the current £1 to keep us aligned as a non-profit organization.

Member Support Scheme

We understand some members were concerned about the fee increase for those within our community who may be struggling with the current economic situation. It’s important we remain as accessible as possible to our existing members and to potential new members who are looking to join us, so we are launching the Member Support Scheme at the start of Q2 2023 alongside the fee increases.

Under this scheme, members of our community who are on low income are entitled to a reduced cost for their Game Session Tokens. This is open both to new members joining, and existing members who may have already purchased a membership for the year. Applying for a reduced GST cost under the Member Support Scheme requires a proof of benefit letter which you can request from the .gov website here for free: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/request-your-personal-information-from-the-department-for-work-and-pensions.

We understand this can be a sensitive topic and so have multiple avenues for applying to best suit your comfortability in sharing this information with us. You can also rest assured that only those who need to see your proof of benefit letter and approve access will know you have applied to the scheme. The website, your membership card, GST pdfs, and all associated materials appear the same, whether you’re using the scheme or not.

The Member Support Scheme is something we are open to expanding in the future as we continue to identify ways we can improve the accessibility of our clubs and membership to the community.

Fees Under the Member Support Scheme

The reduced fees for those applying for membership under the Member Support Scheme are as follows:

  • Game Session Token for Members: £2.50
  • Game Session Token for Non-Members: £3.50

Applying for Reduced GST Cost

Once you have your proof of benefit letter, you can apply for a reduction in your GST cost under the Member Support Scheme in three ways:

  • In Branch

Give your name and email attached to your RPH account online account and show your proof of benefit letter to your branch manager, who will then request that HQ provide you access to reduced GST costs.

  • Via Discord
Raise a support ticket in our member discord, provide us with the name and email address attached to your RPH online account, and show a photograph or digital copy of your proof of benefit letter. We can then provide access to reduced GST costs.
  • Via Email
Send an email to Membership@rphaven.co.uk with your name and email address attached to your RPH online account, and a photograph or digital copy of your proof of benefit letter. We can then provide you access to reduced GST costs.
