Become a Volunteer

The Role Play Haven is run by a dedicated team of volunteers, who donate their time to fun, safe gaming. We couldn’t do what we do, without them. From running branches, helping at conventions, and creating some of our amazing game sessions; our volunteers are vital and they mean the world to us. They help us combine our favourite hobby with raising money for charities close to our hearts.
Our volunteers bring their skills and passion to The Role Play Haven through our Branch Committees (who run the local branches and organise amazing gaming) and our HQ volunteers (who support our branches)
Do you wish to lead your branch and help shape its future? Standing as a volunteer committee and making key decisions on how the branch is operated?

You will find me having fun roleplaying and GMing at the Archway Branch every Tuesday evening, where I have been a member for a number of years, a committee member for a couple and most recently the Branch Manager.
As the Regional Manager for London, my new role will see me supporting all the London Branches, acting as a sounding board and helping them grow, giving advice and helping to create an atmosphere for safe and friendly gaming.
I have been an avid gamer since a young age, playing most forms of gaming over the years - RPGs, MMORPGs, Boardgames, Play By Mail (still playing Middle Earth PBM), Tabletop Wargaming and BloodBowl.
The most recent systems I have GMed include: Tales from the Loop, Starfinder, Cthulhu and Aliens - quite a varied mix.
Get in touch if you want to talk about any of our London branches and how you can get involved. We're always looking to expand our membership.
You can find me easiest on Discord: Michael#7913, on Facebook or by using my rphaven email.

His first novella, Just Add Water, and his first Novel, Ocean of Stars, were both published by Luna Press publishing and he’s had short fiction published in Parsec magazine as well as multiple articles in Dragon and Tabletop Gaming magazine.
He also wrote a million words in 2014 and has never stopped since then, writing is what keeps him sane…

Regional Manager for Scotland
Bill Heron
A long-time resident of Edinburgh, Bill was instrumental in setting up the Edinburgh branch. Bill became a gamer at an early age after receiving Starship Traveller as a birthday present, the Fighting Fantasy book. Since then, he’s run more RPG campaigns than he can count, and created more worlds than he can remember for a variety of systems. There are several box-binders of his worlds, “just in case”. He’s a full-time IT Infrastructure Engineer and has been known to have free time when he’s not working with Edinburgh’s large gaming community as a GM or volunteer. Usually, this “free time” involves freelance writing for RPGs (he also edits, proof-reads, and indexes). He has a fondness for old-school D6 Star Wars and his work/games often involve the Cthulhu Mythos. You can find his work in the Achtung! Cthulhu range, Mutant Chronicles (3rd Ed.), Infinity RPG, and Musketeers vs. Cthulhu (plus others)! Bill is married, lives at the foot of the castle, and is ruled over by Missy the cat

Head Member Representative
Federica Bertello
Federica is a contract manager for a student travel tour operator, and, of course, a travel addict; Facebook tells her she has visited 45 countries so far, and hopefully many more will come soon! Originally from Italy, she made London her home in 2010.
A gamer in her free time, during her years of volunteering for the RP Haven, she has covered all the committee positions ( Member Rep in Stratford, Games Coordinator first and then Branch Manager in Archway).
Since 2019 she took a step back and is now just a general volunteer, whilst looking after Lorenzo, the youngest RPH volunteer ツ
Senior Volunteers
Our Senior Volunteers support the RPH with key areas and help us create fun projects and branches to play in.

Anything to do with servers, I'm the person to ask ツ I've been playing and GMing at RPHaven for a few years, and recently made the jump to volunteering in order to help with the website transition. Marinos Miltiadous
I am originally from Cyprus and came to the UK to study in 2006 and have been here ever since :). My background is in biology with a specific interest in bats and reptiles. I have a mix husky/hound puppy named Taran that keeps me active by wanting to go on walks all the time.
An avid fan of everything Marvel, anime and Japan in general. Usually, you can find me exploring different MMO RPGs and currently lost in the world of Final Fantasy 14.
I have been a fan of RPGs since I first played and spent hours in Baldur's gate and Neverwinter Nights on my pc, many many years ago. I have always been fascinated by the world of D&D so last year when the world started to emerge back to life, I tried a one-shot at an RP Haven event and got hooked.
A year later, and with various dead characters after, I wanted to get a bit more involved and when the position of finance volunteer came up, as my current job is in that area, I have decided to help out.

An accountant by day and a Moon Druid by night. I'm an avid DnDer since joining the RPHaven around 2 years ago.
I was a total TTRPG newbie and the worldwide lockdown prompted me to seek out a friendly bunch of online players and the RPHaven provided! I'm now part of a long-standing group of chaos goblins, rolling dice at Cardiff Central every Sunday evening and have helped out as Members Rep for the last 12 months.
I could not have stumbled across a better bunch and I look forward to rolling dice with more of you

Joshua Rousen
Josh is a professional graphic designer ( www.joshuarousen.com ) with a background in brand identity, UX research, and photography, and has worked in these areas for over a decade. He is passionate about accessibility and inclusivity in design, and can be found reading about those subjects when not focussed on taking care of his myriad plants or fish, digital painting, doing woodwork, painting minis, or generally nerding out about something.
Though a recent newcomer to D&D, he loves creating stories and complex characters.
Josh joined RPH soon after joining the Cardiff North club; felt the community was splendid and wanted to give back.

By day Jen works at Shoreditch Town Hall as Marketing Officer - it’s not actually a town hall, no matter how many times she tells people she doesn’t work for the council, but actually and arts and community venue. By night she loves to play RPGs with the lifelong friends she has made at RPHaven, board games (in particular Blood on the Clocktower, which she runs online), and loves to go to the theatre.
Jen can be reached on discord #jenbee, or more frequently on her instagram @jennitolhurst. She’d love to hear from you, especially if you have any social media content to propose!
